I’m a product design leader who excels at figuring out the right problems to work on, building a team dynamic that considers all perspectives, and creating meaningful solutions that actually get shipped.

I love that design is not art because I thrive on the not-blank canvas that is full of complicated problems and troublesome constraints.

What are your design strengths?

I excel at asking ‘why’ millions of times, deeply understanding users, finding pragmatic solutions that meet business goals, and making friends with my colleagues so that the work is truly collaborative and, dare I say, fun.

Why don’t you have any weaknesses?

I’m from the 🌽 Midwest🌽 where those are illegal.

What’s interesting to you about management?

As a self taught designer who officially started my career with a bootcamp and a sparkle in my eye, I was unpleasantly surprised by the lack of mentorship I experienced early on in my career. In trying to provide the support I wished I had, I discovered that I could both support my team and flex my design skills except with a new end product: my design the team.

What’s something you like about design?

I love diving deep into disparate industries and user problems armed only with a design skills and growth mindset. It’s so cool to me that one career gives you access to so many interesting problems.
